The production of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is in full swing, and updates on the series are being released frequently. Recently, HBO stirred excitement by sharing new images of Ella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, who portray Ellie and Joel, respectively. HBO announced a significant addition to the cast in their latest update.
Jeffrey Wright, an esteemed actor known for performing in Casino Royale, The Batman, and Westworld, is set to return to The Last of Us universe. Having already portrayed Isaac, the leader of the Washington Liberation Front, in the video game The Last of Us Part 2, Wright will continue his role in the television series. This casting makes him the second actor to transition from the game to its TV adaptation, a path first taken by Merle Dandridge as Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies.
Wright joins a roster of previously confirmed actors for the second season, which includes Kaitlyn Dever playing Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Young Mazino as Jesse.
Viewers can anticipate The Last of Us Season 2 premiere on HBO, expected to debut in the first half of 2025.
