Samurai Shodown Gets Rollback Netcode on PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Epic Games Store

SNK, the developer and publisher of Samurai Shodown, has recently upgraded the game to include a rollback netcode for the PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and the Epic Games Store's PC version. This significant enhancement improves the multiplayer experience by maintaining fluid gameplay despite high latency. It uses predictive technology to compensate for potential lags rather than slowing down the action, as seen in previous delay-based systems.

The implementation of rollback netcode in Samurai Shodown has been a long-awaited development. The PC version began beta testing this feature in 2023. The Steam version has already been utilizing rollback netcode since the previous year, and now, several console versions, along with the Epic Games Store version, have been brought up to speed.

However, SNK has yet to introduce rollback netcode to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions of Samurai Shodown, and it remains unclear if or when these versions might receive this update.

Samurai Shodown is available across multiple platforms, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. With the latest update, now is an optimal time to explore or revisit the game, as the enhanced netcode is likely to attract and retain more players.
